What is Bust Expanding Anchor ?
The Bust Expanding Anchor is a type of hardware used in pole line construction. It is designed to provide a secure and stable anchor point for poles and other structures. The anchor consists of a steel rod with a tapered end and a conical-shaped expansion shell. When the anchor is inserted into a pre-drilled hole in the ground, a mechanical tool is used to expand the shell, causing it to grip the surrounding soil and create a tight, stable hold.
How does Bust Expanding Anchor Works?
In the installation, a hole to the anchor’s size is augured parallel with the guy angle and to a size based on the length of the rod. This rod is secured to the expanding and is lowered to the hole. The expanding and tamping tool is deployed for striking the anchor top and open these blades into the soil. The cave is backfilled and then tamped later.
The curved head (expander and tamper) is used to distribute the bar weight around the anchor rod evenly to reduce the handle vibration. The bar hook wraps around the bust anchor rod to keep the expanding head from getting off the anchor top plate.
